Marantec Blink Codes
LED flash patterns, likely causes, and fixes for every Marantec platform.
Synergy 370 / 380
Commercial operator with bi-color status LED and digital display. LED patterns indicate status when display is not readable.
Where to look: Multi-color status LED on the front face of the control unit, above the programming buttons. Blink patterns occur when the digital display shows an 'E' error prefix.
E1 — Motor Thermal Overload
Motor temperature has exceeded safe limits. Continuous or heavy-duty cycle usage.
1. Allow motor to cool for 20 minutes. 2. Check ambient temperature. 3. Verify door balance to reduce motor load.
E2 — Motor Current Fault
Motor current draw exceeded threshold. Door is binding, or motor/capacitor issue.
1. Disconnect door and run operator unloaded. 2. If error persists, check motor capacitor. 3. If clears unloaded, fix door binding issue.
E3 — Safety Edge Fault
Resistive safety edge is open, shorted, or has wrong resistance value.
1. Measure safety edge resistance (should be 8.2kΩ at rest). 2. Check wiring connections. 3. Replace edge if resistance is out of spec.
E4 — Photo Eye Fault
Photoelectric sensor not detected or misaligned.
1. Check photo eye wiring (4-wire connection). 2. Align sensors. 3. Verify sensors are powered (indicator LEDs). 4. Check for correct sensor type setting in menu.
E5 — Encoder / Position Error
The encoder has lost track of the door position. Power outage during travel, or encoder failure.
1. Re-learn the door travel by running a full open/close cycle in setup mode. 2. If error recurs, check encoder connection. 3. Replace encoder if defective.
E6 — Parameter Error
Stored parameters are corrupted. Usually from a power surge or failed firmware update.
1. Factory reset the controller (Menu > Reset > Factory Default). 2. Re-program all limits and settings. 3. If recurring, replace the controller board.
